Tram Stop 20 - Miller St/Nicholson St

The Victorian Government is set to build a new $1.85 billion tram maintenance and stabling facility to house 100 new Next Generation Trams.

With the new Next Generation Trams setting a new standard for modern public transport and delivering a more comfortable, accessible, and energy-efficient journey, it is also important to keep them safe and protected.

Partnered with Yarra Trams, Australian Bollards has supplied and installed Energy Absorbing Bollards (AB-EAB) and High Impact Bollards (AB-HI140-1600Y/AB-HI165-1600Y) to tram stops all over Victoria.

The need for bollards in high traffic and pedestrian areas is crucial to protecting and preventing damage and injury to the public and property.

Located on Miller St/Nicholson St, tram stop 20 has received several High Impact Bollards.

These AB-HI140-1600Y/AB-HI165-1600Y Bollards are heavy-duty, subsurface mounted bollards, available in a bright Yellow powder coated finish for visibility.

Application of this High Impact Bollard goes beyond just tram stops and are ideal in many other places such as wash bays, high voltage transformers and other utility appliances.

Many other tram stops like Stop 6 on Russell St/Flinders St and Stop 29 on St Kilda Road showcase our Energy Absorbing Bollard.

Compared to other regular frontal impact bollards, the AB-EAB is designed to absorb oncoming collisions, protect pedestrians, assets and infrastructure by decelerating the vehicle in a controlled manner.

The bollard is also installed at a sub-surface level, but comes in a white powder coated finish to provide an aesthetically pleasing touch to the product.

The AB-EAB is compliant with the road safety barrier systems and device standards in the AS/NZS 3845 which was formed in 1999.

Australian Bollards offer benchmark security options when you are looking to protect critical infrastructure, public transport hubs, tram stops, busy intersections, and general asset protection on the metro train network and near schools or universities.

Engineered to save lives, our bollards are designed, developed, and manufactured in Australia.
